News! Attention
National Level Helpers & All Competitors! |
|
| The German
style conformation show is, by definition, intertwined with the sport of
Schutzhund. While the first two phases in the sport of Schutzhund
(Tracking and Obedience) may be practiced on one's own, the crucial
Protection phase depends upon the motivation and dedication of skilled
helpers. The German show and working sport in this country simply
cannot grow without the help of these special athletes. Everyone
competing at the NASS needs helpers, whether entered in the baby puppy
classes or working classes |
| |
| This year
Keystone-Buckeye is trying out a number of policies designed to attract
the very best helpers in our country. The better the helpers, the
better our dogs are able to present themselves for evaluation. |

|
News for Competitors: |
|
| We have
included a "Helper Tax" in our entry fees to be used to cover
the expenses of the chosen helpers. This ranges from
$5/entry in the puppy classes, to $10/entry for the 12-18 month and
18-24 month classes, and $25/entry for the working classes. This
is a dedicated "pot", for this event, to be divided equally among the four helpers chosen
for the show, as well as to provide a modest reimbursement towards
expenses of National Level Helpers who are not selected. No
further tipping is required. |

News for Helpers: |
|
| All WDA
certified National Level Helpers who attend the NASS Helper Tryouts on
Thursday, October 13 will receive $100 towards their expenses. Four
helpers will be chosen at these tryouts for the NASS Protection
Evaluation, two for males
and two for females. It is expected that you will be able to
cross-cover for each other, should someone be injured. The four
selected helpers will divide the remaining Helper Tax equally.
Keystone-Buckeye will also provide the chosen helpers with the
following: |
| |
- Complimentary hotel rooms at the
host Radisson hotel for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights
- One complimentary Saturday night
banquet ticket
- Copy of NASS Protection Work DVD
from Family Treasures
- Additionally, we are currently
working on sponsors to provide the helpers with new sleeve covers,
sticks, etc., in recognition of the wear and tear that their own
equipment sustains at an event of this stature.
