Aiken Fields

Welcome to Keystone-Buckeye's web site for the 2005 North American Sieger Show!  The club is excited to host what we hope will be the biggest and best German-style event ever in this country!  Pittsburgh is a friendly, fun city, with great facilities for our dogs and their handlers.

The most important pieces of the Sieger Show are already in place.  Our Judges are Leonhard Schweikert and Heinz Scheerer.  The host hotel is the Pittsburgh Greentree Radisson.  Located just 20 minutes from the Greater Pittsburgh International Airport and 5 minutes outside of Pittsburgh's downtown Golden Triangle, the Radisson offers high level amenities and enough rooms (400+) so that most competitors can stay together and enjoy our mutual dog obsessions!

News Flash!

The show grounds for the NASS have been changed to Aiken Fields in Greentree, PA.  These newly renovated baseball, soccer fields and parking areas are just 1/2 mile (1km) away from the host hotel and 5 minutes drive from downtown Pittsburgh!  Considerable parking is available next to the field.  Competitors will be able to reserve and pay for premium parking space in advance.  There is also unlimited free parking across the street from the fields in a mall lot.

The Boro leaders and greater community of Greentree are excited to host the entire Sieger Show event!  Greentree Boy Scout Troop 269 will serve as official color bearers for Sieger Show ceremonies, as well as our official "Poop Patrol".  Thank you, Shawn Longstreth for this brilliant suggestion!  Scouts will also participate in a Junior Handler program this summer and we look forward to several of them actually handling dogs in the Sieger Show!

Because of the venue change, the schedule of events needs to be adjusted.  Details will be posted soon.

For 2005

Protection work and working class stand for exams will all take place on SATURDAY.  Protection work will be done males first then females with both going in catalog order.  We will allow a 5 dog spacing for owners with multiple dogs in the same class.

All puppy classes and the Open class will be held on Friday.

In addition to trophies for all competitors, there will be special trophies for the highest placed AMERICAN BRED DOGS in the 12-18 month, 18-24 month, and Working classes.

Our brood bitches are finally going to get the recognition they deserve!  For the first time, there will be progeny groups for our mother lines.

We believe in doggie good citizenship.  Ten percent of all advertising revenue will be ear-marked to support Pittsburgh Animal Friends and the West Deer Dog Shelter.

Chris Mandela, Keystone-Buckeye's Chief Information Officer, has been hard at work engineering this website.  Competitors will be able to enter and pay on-line.  As more details unfold, the website will keep you informed.

For a quick glimpse into Pittsburgh's many charms, please see www.visitpittsburgh.com.  Plan to come early, or linger a day or two.  Mid-October is peak fall foliage season, and normally our best weather of the year.

Next year, come to Pittsburgh and have a BLAST!

President, Keystone-Buckeye Hundesport
